Well, it's Monday and the beginning of the regular job work week and the end of the weekend crafting fun!
Last Friday was my birthday and since my husband was out of town, I treated myself to an entrelac knitting class at my new favorite yarn shop, Knit & Knot, some yummy yarn and a relaxing afternoon of knitting. Of course, it was only relaxing AFTER I got started, had a few rows done and figured out what I was doing! I had so much fun, I wonder how many entrelac scarves one person can have?
Yesterday, my friend Cathy came over and used my long-arm. She had a king-size quilt she pieced and her mid-arm quilter was too small for the job. In exchange for using my long-arm, she brought an egg caserole and coffee cake for brunch after church. Someone brings food for me, I'm all in! LOL!
And, it is almost spring here in Iowa...we had snow on Sunday and forecast of 60 degrees for this coming Wednesday - crazy weather! The red-winged blackbirds are back, but I haven't seen any robins yet.
Have a great week, talk to you soon!

Well, it's a cloudy, drizzly day here in eastern Iowa! But, so excited, as I am taking a tatting class this afternoon! I've tried to teach myself needle tatting in the past, but just didn't understand flipping front to back. I know the basics and am really excited to learn with a shuttle. I'm not sure what I will do with my new creations. But it will be a small project that I can take in my purse for when I am in the car or sitting and waiting for appointments.
I was able to be in my sewing room last night and finished putting together the top for my great-niece's baby quilt who is due in April. It is ready for the long-arm! Yippee! I only bought the fabric 2 weeks ago and it's done already! It's probably a first for me! Usually the fabric I buy has to sit and age! LOL! I'm am an addict to the pretty, new fabrics the show up in the stores. But I am being a faithful reader and follower (so far) to Bonnie Hunter (www.quiltville.com) and I have set forth on a new journey to use SCRAPS and STASH. We'll see how long that lasts!
Plus, as a help for my fabric addiction, I have given up buying fabric for Lent. I did it last year and it was hard, which is the point. People think I'm nuts, but if I can go 40 days without buying fabric and still sew, maybe there's hope for me! Of course, I did NOT give up books, patterns, or yarn! Hence, the tatting class!
And while at the yarn shop last Saturday, I just happened upon a sock knitting book that I had to have...another project to start!
I hope that everyone has a great Tuesday!

Monday!
Back to blogging! I guess I should really keep up with this and get into the current technology!
My new favorite quilt site and blog is www.quiltville.com - Bonnie has inspired me to use my scraps and stash! Thank you Bonnie!! You need to see her website to get new ideas, not only for charity blankets, but also for your own use. You will not be disappointed!
Current projects in motion are scrappy yo-yo, Farmer's Wife blocks, a baby quilt for a a new great-niece due in April (am I really that old?), on on-going and long hexagon project, and of course, customer quilts that need to go on the long-arm. Someday...I can retire from work and play with fabric all day, every day!
Got a new Kindle Fire over the weekend. So far, so good. I'm sure it will take me awhile to learn all the bells and whistles.
It's cold, windy and partly cloudy here in Iowa. Hope everyone is having a great day!
