Well, it's a cloudy, drizzly day here in eastern Iowa! But, so excited, as I am taking a tatting class this afternoon! I've tried to teach myself needle tatting in the past, but just didn't understand flipping front to back. I know the basics and am really excited to learn with a shuttle. I'm not sure what I will do with my new creations. But it will be a small project that I can take in my purse for when I am in the car or sitting and waiting for appointments.
I was able to be in my sewing room last night and finished putting together the top for my great-niece's baby quilt who is due in April. It is ready for the long-arm! Yippee! I only bought the fabric 2 weeks ago and it's done already! It's probably a first for me! Usually the fabric I buy has to sit and age! LOL! I'm am an addict to the pretty, new fabrics the show up in the stores. But I am being a faithful reader and follower (so far) to Bonnie Hunter (www.quiltville.com) and I have set forth on a new journey to use SCRAPS and STASH. We'll see how long that lasts!
Plus, as a help for my fabric addiction, I have given up buying fabric for Lent. I did it last year and it was hard, which is the point. People think I'm nuts, but if I can go 40 days without buying fabric and still sew, maybe there's hope for me! Of course, I did NOT give up books, patterns, or yarn! Hence, the tatting class!
And while at the yarn shop last Saturday, I just happened upon a sock knitting book that I had to have...another project to start!
I hope that everyone has a great Tuesday!
